Ingredients

  • 2-3 blocks different cheeses (I used a red wax gouda, a Wensleydale cranberry, and cream cheese)
  • ½ canteloup melon, sliced
  • 4 mini bagels
  • 2 waffles, cut into quarters
  • 1 orange, quartered
  • 2-3 cured meats (salami & proscuitto)
  • 8 oz smoked salmon
  • ½ cup blueberries
  • ½ cup strawberries
  • 6 soft boiled eggs, halved
  • 6-7 cornichons
  • ½ cup almonds
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup Nutella
  • ½ cup fresh dill

Instructions

  • Start by placing your cheeses on the platter or serving board in a couple of prominent spots.
  • Add the melon, oranges, or whatever other large pieces of fruits you're using.
  • Add the cured meats, positioning them next to the cheeses and fruit.
  • Arrange the larger bread items, like the waffles and mini bagels on the board.
  • Add the smaller fill-ins, like the berries, cornichons, nuts, jammy egg halves, and herbs.
  • Finally, add any sauces or spreads you're using, such as peanut butter, Nutella, maple syrup or jam.

Notes

  • Use this guide as a base, but definitely feel free to customize it to what you like or what you have on hand - so many different items can make up a great breakfast board if you use your imagination!
  • When assembling the board, start with your larger items first and use them as anchors. Then add smaller items as you go to fill in the empty spots.
