This Privacy Policy explains what information Front Range Fed, LLC ("Front Range Fed," "we," "us") and the companies we work with collect when you visit frontrangefed.com (the "Site"), how it's used and shared, and the choices you have. It is part of our Terms of Service.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you subscribe to our newsletter, download a freebie, leave a comment or rating, or contact us, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address and message.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and the companies listed below collect information about your device and how you use the Site through cookies, pixels, tags, scripts and similar technologies. This includes your IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, pages you view, how long you stay, what you click or search for, the page you came from, and identifiers stored in cookies or created from your device or email address.
Information from partners. Our advertising partners may combine information collected on the Site with information they have collected elsewhere, including on other websites and devices.
How we use it
- Run the Site, show recipes, and power search, ratings and comments.
- Send newsletters and freebies you sign up for.
- Understand which recipes readers like and improve the Site, and create aggregate, non-identifying audience statistics (such as readership numbers and demographics) to share with brand partners and in media kits.
- Show ads, including ads personalized to your interests, and measure how ads perform. Advertising is how we keep the Site free.
- Protect the Site from spam, bots and fraud.
- Respond to your messages and meet legal obligations.

Comments are public. Your comment, the name you enter and your profile picture appear publicly on the Site and may be seen and shared by anyone. If you choose to save your name and email for future comments, a cookie stores them in your browser for up to a year.
Embedded content. Some posts include videos, pins or social posts embedded from other sites. These behave as if you visited that site directly: it may collect data about you, set cookies and track how you interact with the embed, especially if you're logged in there.
Advertising through Raptive
CMI Marketing, Inc., d/b/a Raptive ("Raptive") is a service provider of this Site for the purposes of placing advertising on the Site, and Raptive will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. Raptive's partners include:
- Ad exchanges and networks that buy and serve ads, such as Google (DoubleClick), Amazon, PubMatic, Index Exchange, OpenX, Magnite (Rubicon Project) and others listed in our ads.txt file.
- Identity providers such as LiveRamp, ID5, LiveIntent and The Trade Desk (Unified ID 2.0), which create identifiers that help advertisers recognize the same browser or device across websites, apps and devices.
- Measurement companies such as comScore and Nielsen, which measure audiences and ad results.
Selling and sharing. Under some state privacy laws, allowing these partners to collect information for targeted advertising may count as "selling" or "sharing" personal information, even though no money changes hands for a list of names. We treat it that way and give you the choice to opt out, described below.
Sponsored content. Sponsored posts or emails may include a brand partner's tracking pixel so the sponsor can measure how a campaign performed, such as views and clicks. We don't give sponsors your name or email address.
Your choices
- Opt out of targeted ads: use the privacy link on the Site, labeled ["Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" or the label Raptive's notice uses]. This applies to the browser and device you use; repeat it on each.
- Industry opt-outs: you can also opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Cookies: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking them may affect how the Site works.
- Email: unsubscribe anytime using the link at the bottom of any email.
- Do Not Track: browsers' Do Not Track settings aren't a consistent standard, so the Site doesn't respond to them.
Privacy rights by state
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado and other states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use and share.
- Get a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and of targeted advertising.
- Not be treated differently for using these rights.
To make a request, contact us or email [contact email]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. Much of the advertising data is held by Raptive and its partners rather than by us, so we may pass your request along or point you to them.
How we handle requests. We'll confirm we received your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you and may take up to 45 more days. To protect your information, we may ask you to confirm details, such as replying from the email address you subscribed with. Requests are free, up to twice in a 12-month period.
Appeals. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying with "Appeal" in the subject line within 45 days of our decision. We'll respond within 45 days and explain what we decided and why. If you disagree with the result, you can contact your state attorney general.
California residents. In the last 12 months, we collected and disclosed the categories of personal information below. The sources and purposes are described in "What we collect" and "How we use it," and we keep information as described in "Security and retention." California's "Shine the Light" law also lets you request, once a year, information about personal information shared for direct marketing.

Children, security and updates
Children. The Site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security and retention. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website is completely secure. We keep newsletter and comment information while you're subscribed or your comment is posted, and other information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as the law requires.
If the business is sold. If Front Range Fed is sold, merged or transferred, reader information may transfer to the new owner as part of that deal, subject to this policy.
Changes. We'll post any updates here and change the "Last updated" date. Please don't send sensitive information such as health details or Social Security numbers through the Site.
