Steak Egg And Cheese Bagel Recipe With Breakfast Sauce
These delicious Steak Egg and Cheese Bagel Sandwiches are inspired by the iconic McDonald’s Steak Bagels, and are stacked with shaved steak, smoked cheddar cheese, soft and creamy scrambled eggs, and a delicious breakfast sauce that takes the sandwich to the next level.
Create the breakfast sauce by mixing all the ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ribeye steak for about 2 minutes. Flip the steak and cook an additional 1-2 minutes. Remove the steak from the pan and cover with foil to keep warm. Wipe the pan clean.
Whisk the eggs in a medium bowl. In the same skillet you used to cook the steak, add the eggs and scramble over low heat until soft and creamy (learn how to make soft and creamy scrambled eggs here!).
While the eggs are cooking, toast the bagels.
Assemble the sandwich by spreading the breakfast sauce on the cut sides of the freshly toasted bagel. Top one side with the steak, then the scrambled egg. Add the slice of smoked cheddar cheese slices to the top of the egg. Top with the remaining bagel half and serve.
Notes
Use quality ingredients! The big advantage this sandwich has over the McDonald's breakfast sandwich is that it uses high-quality ingredients. Choose a good cut of steak, and a good, melty cheese, and make your eggs with care (nice and creamy!) for the best results.
