Corn Dogs are a favorite snack during summer, and the air fryer makes them so easy to enjoy! No need to turn your oven on, or suffer from soggy microwave corn dogs - the air fryer cooks them quickly and they turn out perfectly crispy every time!

Air fryer corn dogs are the perfect snack and a fun throwback to childhood memories of summer treats, state fair indulgences, and family fun. Growing up, I went to the Illinois State Fair every summer and our trip wasn't complete without a corn dog, a batch of malt vinegar french fries, and a cool lemonade shakeup. These days, I love giving corn dogs to my kids as a fun treat, and after making them in the air fryer, I don't think I'd do it any other way!

    Why I Love Them

No need to travel to the fair to enjoy these fun throwback snacks. You can easily make them from the comfort of your own home! Since I purchased my air fryer, we've been trying out all kinds of recipes using it, and to be honest, air frying is becoming one of my favorite cooking methods. Here's why cooking corn dogs in the air fryer is a game changer:

    • No oven. We typically only enjoy these during the summer months and I don't think I'm alone when I say I hate turning my oven on when the heat is blazing. The air fryer makes it so easy to cook these delicious corn dogs - they come out perfectly golden brown and crispy every time in just minutes, and there's no need to heat your whole house.
    • No microwave. Don't get me wrong - I use my microwave on the regular. But some foods just turn out a bit soggy and blah when cooked in the microwave including corn dogs. Cooking the corn dogs in the air fryer prevents this and gives you a nice crunch with every bit.
    • No deep fryer. If you make your own homemade corn dogs, hats off to you! Personally, I hate dealing with the deep fryer though and the air fryer makes it so easy to heat these up to golden perfection every single time.
    • A fun treat. Ok, corn dogs are not the epitome of health. Still, I found some that my kids LOVE and are actually a bit healthier than typical packaged corn dogs. Costco is currently selling corn dogs that are actually made from chicken from a brand called Foster Farms, and they're delicious! They taste like beef, clock in at 10 grams of protein, and just 9 grams of sugar. They're a great way to enjoy that classic corn dog flavor without the guilt, and the perfect afternoon snack.
    • Easy snack or dinner. My kids love making these corn dogs when they come home from the pool for a quick snack, but they can just as easily be made for a quick lunch or an easy dinner. Add a dipping sauce and a side and you have a quick and easy meal!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use different brands of corn dogs?

Absolutely! Feel free to experiment with your favorite brand of corn dogs for the best results.

How do I ensure my corn dogs are cooked evenly?

Make sure the corn dogs are placed in a single layer in the basket of your air fryer. This allows hot air to circulate properly, giving you that nice crunchy texture.

Can I air fry corn dogs straight from frozen or do I need to thaw them first?

The air fryer does a great job cooking the corn dogs directly from the freezer - no need to thaw them beforehand!

Can I use the same method for air fryer mini corn dogs?

Yes, but reduce the cooking time to about 10-12 minutes since they are smaller and cook faster.

Do I need to use non-stick spray or parchment paper?

It's usually not necessary, but if you find that your corn dogs are sticking, a light spray of non-stick spray can help.

Corn dogs are great on their own, but they’re even better with a variety of dipping sauces. Here are some of my favorites:

    • BBQ Sauce
    • Ranch Dressing
    • Honey Mustard
    • Sriracha Mayo
    • Boom Boom Sauce
    • Parmesan Garlic Sauce

Pair your air-fried corn dogs with some delicious sides to make a complete meal:

    • French fries or sweet potato fries
    • Potato salad or pasta salad
    • Cole slaw
