-1 Large Onion -A Very Sharp Knife -A Large Cutting Board

What You'll Need

Prepare the onion by cutting off both ends of the onion (the "north and south pole") and discarding them. 

Step 1

Slice the onion in half length-wise, and discard the outermost peel of the onion (the papery part). 

Step 2

Front Range Fed

Place the onion cut side down onto the cutting board, and, starting at one end, slice the onion at a vertical angle, working your way toward the middle of the onion.

Step 3

After you've reached the middle, turn the onion and, again, make vertical slices, starting at the end, and working your way back toward the middle. 

Step 4

Repeat the slicing process for the other half of the onion.

Step 5

Use the sliced onions in fajitas, tostadas, tacos, sandwiches or any other recipe that calls for them!

Step 6

If your onions have too strong of a flavor for you, soaking them for 5-10 minutes in cold water can help soften the bite!
