I know I can't be alone when I say that sauces and condiments can make or break a dish. Put together the right trio of sauces for French fries (make the perfect French fries in the air fryer!), and you have a winning appetizer. Add the perfect glaze to a chicken dish, and you'll have me swooning. And, finding the perfect spicy sauce to go with all of the above? I'm a girl in heaven.
Honey sriracha sauce is one of those sauces, and it's easy enough to make, with staple ingredients that it should be a back-pocket recipe that everyone keeps on hand. I can't wait for you to try this flavorful sauce!

Why this Recipe Works
- Sweet and spicy! The combination of honey and sriracha creates the perfect balance of flavors. Great with crispy roasted air fryer baby potatoes, blistered shishito peppers, your classic air fried french fries, or these cheesy fried mashed potato balls!
- Simple ingredients. With just a handful of common ingredients, this sauce is incredibly easy to make.
- Versatile. Its versatility allows it to be used as a dip, marinade, or glaze, or even as a salad dressing, which basically means you can use it almost everywhere! It's the perfect complement to grilled chicken! Or, try making honey sriracha shrimp! This sauce is one of my favorite ways to completely transform a meal!
- Better than a store-bought version. This sauce has pretty simple ingredients. And while you should watch the sodium content from the soy, you won't have to worry about things like high fructose corn syrup, which is typically found in the sauces at the grocery store.
- Easy to customize. This is a pretty mild hot sauce, but if you're craving a bit of heat, you can easily amp up the spice levels of this sweet sriracha sauce. (Or, if you want it on the milder side, you can also take it down a notch! See the notes below.)
Key Ingredients
Just a few simple ingredients are needed to make this easy honey sriracha sauce.

- Honey. Provides a light sweetness and acts as the base for the sauce.
- Sriracha. Spicy Sriracha sauce brings the heat, adds a nice spicy flavor, and gives the sauce its signature kick.
- Soy sauce. For that delicious umami-rich taste.
- Rice vinegar. Adds a subtle tanginess and some acidity that balances out the sweetness of the honey. (You can substitute white vinegar here if you don't have rice vinegar.)
- Garlic. Provides great flavor - I use fresh garlic here, which I prefer, but you can also use garlic powder to make this recipe even easier.
- Fresh lime juice. Brightens the sauce with a hint of acidity, tying all the flavors together.
Variations And Substitutions
- Use maple syrup. Substitute maple syrup for honey for a slightly different flavor.
- Make it gluten-free. Use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free alternative.
- Add some heat. If you're in the mood for a spicier sauce, add some chili powder, or use hot honey instead of regular honey for some sweet heat.
- Make it mild. Want more of a sweet sauce? Reduce the amount of sriracha and add a touch more honey.
How To Make Honey Sriracha Sauce

The honey sriracha sauce has a slightly spicy, sweet, and tangy flavor, and strikes the perfect combination for a sweet/spicy sauce. It has a mild-medium heat level, but that can be adjusted according to personal tastes by varying the amount of sriracha used. My son hates spicy foods and he loves this sauce! Spicy or not, it still has big flavor!
This tasty sauce can be used in so many ways! Try it as a glaze for veggies (honey sriracha brussels sprouts are a favorite!), chicken wings or thighs, or shrimp. Or, use it as a dipping sauce for Air Fryer French Fries, Carrot Fries, Homemade Yukon Gold Chips chicken nuggets, Air Fryer Zucchini Fries, Spicy Fried Chicken, or Tempura Fried Shrimp.
Yes, this sauce can be frozen for up to three months in a freezer-safe container.
Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
I love this homemade sauce as a glaze for chicken, shrimp, or veggies (like these Honey Sriracha Brussels Sprouts!). As is, it's a fairly thin sauce, which works well as a glaze for veggies. When glazing chicken or shrimp, simply simmer the sauce in a small saucepan on the stove over low heat, then add a cornstarch slurry (2 teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with 3 teaspoon cold water) to the sauce. Let it cook for about 2 minutes or until the sauce has thickened to your liking. Then add to chicken thighs for Honey Sriracha Chicken, wings, shrimp, or whatever you want to put it on! (Bonus: doing this not only thickens the sauce but makes a slightly sticky sauce too - great for chicken wings!)
